As an international volunteer in Costa Rica you will make a huge difference and meaningful contribution, working closely together with the local people and organizations. You will be sharing your own experiences and knowledge with the community to meet their goals and you will be warmly welcomed by them. You will experience a different culture like you never have before and you will really get to know the people. You will gain new perspectives and insights into the Costa Rican culture and yourself. It is an exciting, personally inspiring and challenging experience; you will develop memories that will be with you forever.

We offer you being a part of our international teams that are not only working professionally to raise environmental awareness amongst children around the country they also work in social and creative projects with disabled children, develop new ideas for recycling cooperatives in poor communities or protect endangered animals in Costa Rica’s amazing ecosystems.

We want to develop communities’ ability to develop their own ideas and to take practical steps towards improvement and maintenance of the beautiful environment they live in.

This is an ideal project for you to function as a preserver to protect an endangered species. You will gain an insight into the huge field of the marine biology. Whilst being part of this project you will help with researching and collecting data. You will be part of a specialized marine turtle conservation project and you will get involved in preparing the beaches for the nesting season. Additionally you will be responsible for regular beach patrols at night to assure full protection. This is a great opportunity to help with the conservation of endagered species whilst living in an international camp with other volunteers right in the middle on the beautiful beaches of the Pacific coast down to the OSA Peninsula.

This new project will get you involved with the new research station on the south pacific coast of Costa Rica where professional marine life investigation takes place.
You will support the exiting daily work of marine biologists and the wildlife research team e.g. collecting new data and recording the achievements of you own and everybody else’s conservation efforts.

Besides the organizational work you will accompany the biologists whilst taking, recording and managing data collected from the sea habitat and transferring them into databases using international standards. The investigation center is the meeting point for international teams working towards the same goal: protecting this amazing environment and animals.

Furthermore Volunteers will support the development of Workshops in nearby communities and will be running them to implement the integrated marine conservation program.
Your support will help to maintain the investigation and will offer you amazing insights into the underwater world of the Pacific ocean.

This exiting project is focusing on the investigation of the Jaguar population and its behavior in their natural habitat the region of Talamanca. Special camera equipment was veloped and installed in the mountains of the investigation area. You will be handling special equipment to record the most amazing images. Through heat sensitive sensors cameras will take fantastic photos of the Felines at night. Every animal has a unique skin which in fact makes it possible to identify them individually and document their behavior and migration.

Through this work and exiting excursions into other areas with your help a huge and solid data basis will be set up which is extremely helpful and will be in educational work and as well supports the specific protection activities in the region.

The project is located on a beautiful private autonomous farm where a mixed population of indigenous groups, Costa Rican people and international researches live together. Regularly there are workshops and information events where each group welcomes you into their traditions and way of life and as much as they are very interested about you roots and traditions. This project is perfect for small groups and families that want to experience a sustainable way of living and support the described animal wildlife conservation activities.

Education projects focus on the development to raise environmental awareness amongst children and communities as well as their ability to take further practical steps to save and improve the environment they live in. Our projects focus on the professional exchange of ideas and concepts with organizations and institutions that are involved in local environmental protection . Therefore we are preparing and undertaking workshops within various environmental issues using improved methodologies to achieve continuous participation in conservation for each group.

Our projects are integrated in a large concept of educational work mostly in the area of the OSA Peninsula. Topics like conservation and rainforest protection are always playing a very important part in all workshops or events in every school or community. Focusing on the youth we try to awake their interest for this amazing eco-system they are surrounded by and motivate them to get involved in supporting us to protect their future. This means we plan and execute workshops where even the youngest can add their creativity and learn e.g. how to recycle paper or how to reuse organic waste.

You will be involved in all kind of activities to realize the above and additionally you will have the chance to plan and put own creative educational or environmental projects into practice during your participation period.
